Clara loses her brave fight

RIP Clara Rebecca Brown, November 13, 2007 – April 13, 2012

AFTER six months battling an aggressive form of leukaemia, four-year-old Clara Brown of Helensburgh has succumbed to the disease, passing away on April 13.

Brave little Clara’s funeral was held at the Woronora Crematorium on Monday, April 23.

Family friend Darren Watt said it was an incredible shock as Clara had been doing well.

“The cancer had moved to her spine and brain but they had her on a new type of chemo and she seemed to be doing better,” he said.

Clara Rebecca Brown was born in the Netherlands on November 13, 2007, and moved with her British parents to Helensburgh in 2009.

Michelle and John Brown have had their family from the UK with them for the past week, with Mrs Brown’s parents staying on.

Mr Watt said the couple were “awesome”.

“They’re getting out every day to try and take their minds off things,” he said.
